Dance Residency and Concert w/Peter Kalivas

The PGK Project returns to the Melbourne/Orlando area for a residency and performance. January 30th thru February 2nd Peter Kalivas, Artistic Director of The PGK Project, will teach open classes from 5:30pm-7pm and rehearsal from 7pm-9pm at the IHB studio. This is open to all area dancers with experience in contemporary dance. Peter Kalivas and residency dancers will perform on Friday, February 3rd at the Henegar Center for the Arts at 7:30pm. Brevard Dances!

Dance Arts Centre will resume Brevard Dances! in January at Grant Street Community Center and Lipscomb Community Center in Melbourne, FL. Brevard Dances! is a free dance program for low-income, under-served areas of Brevard County, FL. Students will receive training in Ballet, Modern, Jazz and Hip Hop and learn about health and wellness, dance history and terminology. If you know anyone interested in participating, please contact Sarah Balda at sarah@DanceAC.com. Additionally, we are looking for sponsorship for this impactful, arts program. Donations are tax deductable.

DAC Company Goes to Ecuador!

DAC's senior company will be traveling to Ecuador for a cultural immersion program. DAC students, along with staff will teach American modern dance to students at Centers for Interamerican Studies (www.cedei.org). The 10-day program will culminate with a dance concert. DAC company members will be holding various fundraisers throughout the coming months. If you are interested in donating or volunteering, please contact Sarah Balda at sarah@DanceAC.com.

Hear Me Dance 2012

Hear Me Dance is a student lead dance concert that showcases student choreography from area dance schools. The concert will take place on January 27, 2012 at 7pm at the Heritage Isle Clubhouse Theater. ThisS is DAC's second year producing Hear Me Dance and all proceeds will go to a local nonprofit organization.

Tropical Storms/Hurricanes/Natural Disasters

We are all hoping, praying and crossing our fingers for a smooth Huricanne season. However, in case a major storm presents itself, DAC runs off the public school schedule. If public schools are open during a storm, DAC will remain open and the reverse applies. Classes cancelled due to a storm will be rescheduled with a makeup date.

Important Dates for Fall 11' - Spring 12'

• August 15th - Classes Resume for 2011-2012 season
• September 5th - Labor Day Holiday, Studio Closed
• October 7th - Fall for the Arts in downtown Eau Gallie from 5pm-8:30pm. Check out DAC's company dancers performing improv dance in the streets.
• October 25th - 31st - Students are allowed to wear a Hallowen costume to their dance class. The costume must be danceable and not shed. NO gory costumes, blood, demons, etc..
• November 19th - Brevard Schools Foundation Take Stock in Children 5k run @ BCC MLB campus.
• November 23rd-27th - Thanksgiving Break, Studio Closed
• November 28th - December 2nd - Recital costume measurements at both studios. Please be sure you child attends class.
• December 12th-16th - Observation week at both studios. Parents, grandparents and siblings are welcome.
• December 19th - January 8th - Winter Break, Studio Closed
• January 28th - Hear Me Dance project will be presented at the Heritage Isle Clubhouse Theater at 7pm. Tickets are available at the door.
• January 29th - Car wash & Rummage Sale fundraiser for the Ecuador trip at the IHB studio
• January 30th - February 2nd - Dance residency with Peter Kalivas of the PGK Project at the IHB studio
• February 3rd - The PGK Project and residency dancers perform at the Henegar Center
• March 25th - 30th - Spring Break, Studio Closed]
• May 26th- TENATIVE DATE for the Recital runthru for both studios at IHB studio
• June 1st - 2012 Recital Dress Rehearsal at the Henegar Center in downtown Melbourne. MANDATORY for all students participating in the recital
• June 2nd - Dance Arts Centre's 2012 Recital held at the Henegar Center in downtown Melbourne at 6pm

Please note that in case of a Hurricane or other natural disaters, we will operate classes in accordance with the public School Board. Any missed classes will be scheduled for make up as soon as possible.

Tuition Information

• Tuition due by the 10th of each month. Payments submitted on the 11th or after need to include a $15 late charge. This policy will be strictly enforced!
• Tuition is expected regardless of students attendance level. Payment is require to continue to reserve the students spot in his/her class(es). Students are encouraged to make-up any missed class(es).
• All payments need to be made out to Dance Arts Centre.
• Tuition does not include recital fees or costume fees.
• The $20 non-refundable recital fee will be applied towards the students costume payment for the recital held in June.
• Tuition is based on the fiscal year.

Family discount available (this applies only to immediate family). 1st student is charged the full price, each additional child will receive 40% off on their tuition.
Ex. 1st student 1 hr, $52 monthly, 2nd student, 1hr, $31.2 monthly, 3rd student, 1hr, $31.2 monthly.
